I'm launching a phone interview podcast.

I don't have a landline phone, so I can't use those gadgets to record. SkypeOut gives me frequent distortion.

Gotta record my cell phone. GrandCentral only records incoming calls; no good. Services like Call Recorder Card and Recordia Pro are too expensive.

So I bought Radioshack's Wireless Phone Recording device (#17-855), which takes a 2.5mm plug (available on most cell phones for the headset) and outputs it to your cell phone headset AND a 3.5mm plug (for recording). I dump the 3.5mm plug into a little Olympus digital voice recorder (VN-3100PC).

Problem is, there's always noise. That same noise that happens when you put your cell phone too close to your PC speakers and it's transferring data. short mp3 example of noise

What else can I do? How can I record this cell phone without spending a fortune? It's a Blackberry 8700c, and has no "record call" feature.

CellTap and the DynaMetric CRA-124V look identical to the Radioshack device, but $70 more expensive. The Olympus TP-7 also looks the same, but one reviewer notes it has the exact same flaw as the Radioshack #17-855 that I'm complaining about here. Daptor Three could record through a bluetooth connection with my phone, but I don't have $400 to spend here.

Does anyone have experience with the WatsonMike 160 or the FSV-256?
